A player from Grantham College's Football Centre of Excellence has been invited to a trial with League One club Coventry City.

Joe Down has aleady spent four sessions with the club and his trial has been extended after he impressed the club.

Alex Cross, head coach at the college's Football Centre of Excellence, says: "The College and Coventry City are working together to give Joe the best possible pathway for his development.

"He has tremendous amounts of ability with a couple of areas that we are working together to develop which will then give Joe the best possible chance in his quest to play at the highest level.

"It's great to have Coventry City recognising our programme, they have really looked after Joe giving him kit, lunch and continuous feedback. This is evidence of the fantastic opportunities that we can give our footballers at Grantham College!"
