Booking will no longer be needed at Lincolnshire tips from September 1.

However, Lincolnshire County Council says although the permit scheme for vans and larger trailers will remain.

Cllr Daniel McNally, executive member for waste and recycling at Lincolnshire County Council, explained: "In the elections we promised we'd make the HWRC's easier to access, so we've been working hard with our contractors to remove the booking system.

"I'm pleased to say that from 1 September, residents will no longer need to book a slot to access the sites in the county.

"This will undoubtedly make it more convenient to dispose of recycling, garden waste and general waste."

He added: "Permits will still be required for vans and larger trailers."

As Nub News reported last week, today's move follows recommendations for a council meeting today, which a report said many people book for slots at the tips but fail to appear.
