Coronavirus: Kesteven & Grantham Girls' School keeping record of pupils who travelled abroad at half term

By The Editor 28th Feb 2020

Kesteven & Grantham Girls' School has recorded details of pupils who travelled abroad at February half term in the wake of updated coronavirus advice by Public Health England (PHE).

In a message to parents on the website the school says: "We have met with all girls who have been abroad over the February half term to ascertain where they have visited.

"No students currently on site have been to a category 1 country or area over the February half term.

"We now have a record of all areas visited by pupils over the February half term so if the advice changes we will be able to act accordingly.

"Measures are in place in line with the government recommendations if a student or member of staff feels unwell and we believe they may have been exposed to the virus.

"At this moment in time, there are no reported cases of the coronavirus on the school site."

This week PHE updated the list of countries most affected by the virus.

Travellers returning from category 1 countries and areas should immediately self-isolate, even if they do not have symptoms, and call NHS 111.

Those returning from category 2 countries and areas are not required to undertake special measures and need only call NHS 111 and self-isolate should they develop symptoms.
