Coronavirus crisis: South Kesteven second for deaths
South Kesteven is second in the county for the number of deaths.
New government data has revealed a breakdown of coronavirus related deaths by local authority in Lincolnshire.
The data on the COVID-19 dashboard shows South Holland has suffered the most with 59 deaths, followed closely by South Kesteven with 58.
West Lindsey has seen the least deaths in Lincolnshire with 19. Lincoln had 32 deaths recorded.
The authority, along with North East Lincolnshire, is one of the 10 lowest-affected councils in the UK with a rate of 19.8 per 100,000 of the population. North East Lincolnshire has a rate of 21.9 per 100,000.
Death reports include the total number of people who tested positive for COVID-19 by the data publication date.
The data does not include those who had COVID-19 but had not been tested, or people who tested negative and subsequently caught the virus and died.
Deaths of people who have tested positive for COVID-19 could in some cases be due to a different cause.
The number of deaths on the government's website, which comes from NHS England, Public Health Protection Teams and other healthcare and commercial labs, totals 434 — two fewer than the latest figures previously suggested.
However, government data has on occasions proven unreliable, and has later been revised to, for instance, remove double counting or those from other postcode areas.
Recent government data has also shown the breakdown of cases to testing and charted how cases progressed throughout Greater Lincolnshire.
