The operator of Grantham Hospital says it is treating a patient with confirmed Coronavirus at one of its hospitals.

The United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust did not say which of its hospitals is treating the patient, nor did it give any further descriptions.

The trust runs hospitals at Grantham, Lincoln, Boston and Louth.

A statement issued by the trust said: "We can confirm that we are treating a patient with confirmed COVID-19 in one of our hospitals. Every infection prevention precaution is being taken, including caring for this patient in isolation. Our staff caring for the patient are trained and equipped to do so safely.

"Patients with outpatient and inpatient appointments should still come to hospital unless they have a new-onset cough or fever, which case they should follow national guidance on self-isolation and contact the number on their appointment letter to cancel."

The trust encouraged people to visit the NHS website for information on what the symptoms are and how people can help prevent the spread of Coronavirus.
