Coronavirus crisis: No more Lincolnshire deaths but nine more cases

Twelve new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Greater Lincolnshire on Tuesday.

Government figures reported nine new positive tests in Lincolnshire, with three in North East Lincolnshire.

No additional cases were confirmed in North Lincolnshire.

This means there have been 144 cases in our region in the since September 1, compared to 204 for the whole month of August.

The county saw a surge in cases confirmed over the weekend, and health bosses have urged people to stick to social distancing measures in response.

Nationally, cases have spiked by 2,420 to 352,520 cases, while deaths increased by 30 to 41,584.

There were no further deaths confirmed in NHS figures or in the government's own tally, which also includes deaths outside of hospitals or outside the county.

2,781 in Lincolnshire (up nine)

782 in North Lincolnshire (no change)

253 in North East Lincolnshire (up three)

The 2,781 for Lincolnshire is equivalent to 365.3 cases per 100,000 of population.

This compares with an England average of 540.6 based on its total of 304,269 cases.

Leicester stands at 5,919 cases, giving it a rate of 1671, more than four times the Lincolnshire rate.

Leicestershire is at 3805 or 538.8

Melton is at 235 (458.9)

Rutland is at 117 (293)

Peterborough is at 1670 (825.7)

South Holland is a 724 (762)

And finally, South Kesteven is at 468 or 328.6 per 100,000. According to Public Health England, Greater Lincolnshire has recorded 390 deaths (no change) 267 from Lincolnshire (no change)

89 from North Lincolnshire (no change)

34 from North East Lincolnshire (no change)

of which 268 hospital deaths (no change)

144 were at United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust (no change)

4 at Lincolnshire Community Health Service hospitals (no change)

1 at Lincolnshire Partnership Foundation Trust (no change)

119 in Northern Lincolnshire (NLAG) (no change) Across the UK, there have been 352,520 cases, with 41,584 deaths.
