Coronavirus crisis: No more Lincolnshire deaths but eight more cases

There were 14 new cases of coronavirus confirmed in Greater Lincolnshire on Thursday.

The government data showed eight new cases in Lincolnshire and six in North Lincolnshire, but none in North East Lincolnshire.

It means there have been 295 cases of coronavirus confirmed in Greater Lincolnshire so far in September.

This morning health bosses in North Lincolnshire warned the area faced local lockdowns after weekly cases tripled.

Authorities have also revealed 19 schools across Greater Lincolnshire have had positive cases of coronavirus.

Meanwhile, the Lincolnshire Showground testing centre was almost deserted this morning as residents continue to struggle with getting tests.

Nationally, cases increased by 3,395 to 381,614 cases on Thursday, while deaths increased by 21 to 41,705.

There were no further hospital deaths confirmed for the Greater Lincolnshire regions in NHS figures or the government's own tally, which also includes deaths outside of hospitals or outside the county.

Latest coronavirus data for Greater Lincolnshire

4,067 cases (up 14)

2,962 in Lincolnshire (up eight)

836 in North Lincolnshire (up six)

269 in North East Lincolnshire (no change)

The 2,962 for Lincolnshire is equivalent to 389.1 cases per 100,000.

This compares with an England average of 584.9 cases per 100,000, based on its total number of 329,213 confirmed cases.

Elsewhere in the region, Leicester reports 6344 cases, up 47, which is equivalent to 1791 cases per 100,000- almost five times the Lincolnshire rate.

Leicestershire reports 4178 cases, up 38, which is equivalent to 591.7 cases per 100,000.

Melton remains at 246 (480.4 cases per 100,000).

Peterborough is up 2 at 1733 (856.8).

Rutland is up 1 to 124 (310.6)

South Holland remains at 737 (775.6)

And South Kesteven is up 5 at 509, which is equivalent to 357.4 cases per 100,000.

Greater Lincolnshire also reports 390 deaths (no change)

267 from Lincolnshire (no change)

89 from North Lincolnshire (no change)

34 from North East Lincolnshire (no change)

of which 268 hospital deaths (no change) 144 at United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust (no change)

4 at Lincolnshire Community Health Service hospitals (no change)

1 at Lincolnshire Partnership Foundation Trust (no change)

119 in Northern Lincolnshire (NLAG) (no change)

There are 378,219 UK cases and 41,684 deaths.
