Eight more people have died with Coronavirus across Lincolnshire in the past 24 hours.

A statement from United Lincolnshire Hospitals said this brings the total number of deaths at its hospitals to 53.

It continued: "The patients were five women aged between 63 and 97, and three men aged between 80 and 88. All had underlying health conditions."

The fatalities comes as the nationwide fatalities figure crashed through the 10,000 barrier, but the number of new cases in our region appears to have slowed dramatically.

Leicestershire saw the number of confirmed cases being treated at its hospitals increase from 469 to 507.

Lincolnshire saw the number of confirmed cases increase from 412 to 413.

Peterborough saw its number of cases remain at 101.

North Lincolnshire saw its number of cases increase from 91 to 95. North East Lincolnshire saw its number of cases remain at 64. Public Health England also reported Rutland's number of confirmed cases remain at 9. The North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, which treats patients from Stamford, Bourne and the Deepings, did not issue an update today concerning Peterborough City and Hinchingbrooke hospitals. Nationally, the number of confirmed cases increased by 5,288 to 84,279 cases. The number of deaths increased 737 to 10,612 over the past 24 hours.
