Coronavirus crisis: How Grantham can still Enjoy England's Finest Photography during the 'lockdown' and beyond

The coronavirus crisis has created chaos for the country's photographers but England's Finest Photography has bravely soldiered on, with a range of new services.

Chris and Michelle England are both trained photographers and the married couple run their business from studios on Springfield Road.

They offer a full range of sessions from Newborn, Milestone, Cake Smash, Portraits, School Photos, Outdoors, Weddings and Seasonal Specials such as Christmas and Easter.

Their studios had to close on March 20 when the schools closed and this meant placing on hold booked sessions including newborns and cake smashes. Weddings have also had to be rescheduled.

Chris told Grantham Nub News: "Whilst we have been closed we have tried to keep our business going but not being able to go near or touch anyone is a disaster for photographers. We launched a number of lockdown services in the meantime such as our water colour edits and doorstep sessions.

"The watercolour edits were a service whereby people sent us a photo they had taken and we edited it and added a watercolour look. This meant a simple snap could be made to look like a high end photo.

"We also launched Doorstep sessions – these were in keeping with the lockdown rules as families were not leaving their property and we kept a safe distance in their front garden or from the path. We did these sessions at a special price and included 5 digital images.

"We are also donating £5 from each session to the Grantham Food Bank and will make the donation once all the sessions are completed. Within these sessions we've captured lots of special occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries and photographed all members of families including pets."

From June 15, the government will allow photography studios to re-open, allowing Chris and Michelle to relaunch a limited number of services.

Chris said: "We are offering cake smashes and our family profile portrait sessions in the studio and full outdoor sessions. We can also offer a full commercial photography service whether that is product shoots, head shots or on location imagery. We now work with Lincolnshire Co-Op and recently photographed their new store opening on Springfield Road.

"To prepare our studios we have bought signage and tape to mark out 2m distances. We have masks and gloves, hand sanitiser and we've implemented new procedures such as no outdoor shoes in the studios.

"We aren't starting to redo newborn sessions yet as these cannot safely be done without us touching the baby and we do not feel the time is right for these yet and we also don't want to risk the health of any of our customers especially tiny newborn babies.

"Going forward we hope to be able to reintroduce more sessions as the rules relax and we are starting to plan for seasonal sessions such as Prom Shoots, Back to School Sessions and Christmas sessions."

Chris and Michelle would both like to thank all their customers who have stood by them in these difficult times and being understanding when they have had to postpone sessions due to the lockdown.

The couple added: "We love all of them and wouldn't have been in the business for the last 5 years without them.
