Belton Garden Centre near Grantham re-opens at 9am tomorrow.

The move follows the latest government guidance which allows garden centres in England to open from tomorrow.

Staff at the centre are busy today preparing for the re-opening, which will include a raft of measures to help ensure the safety of staff and customers.

They say government social distancing and Horticultural Trades Association guidelines will be followed.

The garden centre by the A607 at Belton village closed in March as part of the government-imposed lockdown.

Unlike other garden centres, however, it did not partially re-open by selling 'essentials'.

A garden centre spokesman told Grantham Nub News: "We are not making any more comments to the press. We are busy getting ready."

But on the garden centre's Facebook page, tomorrow's 9am, opening is confirmed, though the cafe and play areas will remain closed.

The centre commented: We are delighted to announce that we will be re-opening at 9am on Wednesday 13th May.

"The Restaurant, The Ice House ice cream parlour & play ground remain closed.

"Social Distancing will apply, with hand washing, trolley wipes and screens installed. We look forward to seeing everyone soon - welcome back!"

The company website said during busy times customers may have to queue outside.

It added normal opening hours will apply. They are 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday and from 10.30am to 4.30pm on Sundays.

The Maidenhead Aquatics section, which sells fish, will also re-open on Wednesday.

Customers were looking happy to the re-opening.

Joyce Thorsen said on Facebook: "Great news ðŸ'"

Susan Clarke said: "Brilliant so pleased"

Sophie Nugent commented: "Hooray!! I've missed you. Thank you"
