A Grantham church is urging people to take part in a national day of remembrance next week.
The United Parish of the Trinity- South Grantham will be staging a special service at St Annes on Harrowby Road on Tuesday March 23.
Rev David Shenton posted on Facebook: "On this very important day which marks one year since the start of the first National Lock Down, Marie Curie is inviting us all to take a moment to remember.
"We will be holding a Service of Remembrance at St Annes Church on Harrowby Road on the evening of 23 March beginning at 7pm and ending in time to stand outside at 8pm holding a candle, phone or torch to in honour of those we have lost.
"During the Service we will be lighting candles for those we have lost or missed through this pandemic very much reflecting our Hearts for Lent initiative.
"This Service is not open to the public due to the current limitations so will be streamed on Facebook LIVE."
Rev Shenton asks anyone wanting someone to be remembered at the event to contact the trinity by email at [email protected] and a candle will be lit for them.
Marie Curie also plans a minute's silence next Tuesday at 12 noon, as can be read here.
