There have been 156 cases of coronavirus and two new deaths in Greater Lincolnshire on Tuesday.

The UK coronavirus dashboard showed cases of COVID-19 in Lincolnshire increased by 99, another 36 in North Lincolnshire, and 21 in North East Lincolnshire.

Overall this means 666 cases have been confirmed in Greater Lincolnshire so far in October.

NHS figures showed no further deaths in hospitals across the region today.

However, the government dashboard death tally, which includes those both in and out of hospitals and those of residents in hospitals outside the county, showed two new deaths for Lincolnshire.

Figures have spiked in recent days but health bosses are unconcerned over Lincolnshire's position so far as the county remains one of the lowest infection rates.

Hospital bosses on Tuesday also voted to keep Grantham Hospital as a "green" COVID-free site as they continue to catch up with operations and other procedures.

There were 820 cases in September, a 400% increase on August numbers.

Nationally, cases increased by 14,542 to530,113 while deaths increased by 76 to 42,445.

On Tuesday there were 32 local schools with coronavirus cases.
