Coronavirus crisis: 24 Lincolnshire cases and no ULHT deaths

Thirty-four new cases of coronavirus and one death in Greater Lincolnshire started off October on Thursday.

Government data showed cases of COVID-19 in Lincolnshire increased by 24, seven new ones in North Lincolnshire, and three in North East Lincolnshire.

Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals confirmed a new death in its facilities on September 30 in NHS figures released Thursday. No other trusts reported further fatalities.

There were 820 cases in September, a 400% spike compared to August.

The government's own death tally, which also includes fatalities outside of hospitals or the county, also increased by one, in line with NLAG's announcement.

Since the start of September, there have been eight deaths in Greater Lincolnshire hospitals.

Hospital bosses in Lincolnshire have confirmed there are seven patients with coronavirus in their facilities.

Although cases have spiked to their highest levels nationally, Thursday's rise was lower than the previous days.

Nationally, cases increased by 6,914 to 460,178 while deaths increased by 59 to 42,202.

Latest coronavirus data for Greater Lincolnshire

4,626 cases (up 34) 3,311 in Lincolnshire (up 24)

969 in North Lincolnshire (up seven)

346 in North East Lincolnshire (up three) The 3311 for Lincolnshire amounts to 435 cases per 100,000 of population. This compares with a England average of 699.9 cases per 100,000, based on its total of 393,931 cases. Leicester increased 47 today to 7064 and a rate of 1994.2 per 100,000. This figure is five times the rate of South Kesteven and more than four times the Lincolnshire rate. It is almost six times the Rutland rate. Leicestershire is up 38 to 4758 (673.8 per 100,000). Melton is up 4 to 265 (517.5). Peterborough is up 10 to 1838 (908.7). Rutland remains at 142 (355.6). South Holland is up 4 to 758 (797.7). And South Kesteven is up three to 565 (396.7).

Greater Lincolnshire has experienced 398 deaths (up one)

272 from Lincolnshire (no change)

90 from North Lincolnshire (no change)

36 from North East Lincolnshire (up one)

of which 274 hospital deaths (up one) 147 at United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust (no change)

4 at Lincolnshire Community Health Service hospitals (no change)

1 at Lincolnshire Partnership Foundation Trust (no change)

122 in Northern Lincolnshire (NLAG) (up one)

The UK today reports 453,264 cases and 42,143 deaths.
