Grantham has suffered 11 deaths from Coronavirus in the run up until the start of June.

The figure is released in new mapping data from the Office of National Statistics, which also reveals the worst or best hit areas down to postcode level in the months of March, April and May.

The figures are revealed as Lincolnshire Hospitals reports no new deaths for four days, putting its overall total at 140.

In Grantham, the worst-hit area was Grantham North West with five deaths, all of them in April, followed by four deaths in Grantham South east, with two deaths in April and two in May.

The online mapping tool also revealed Grantham South West reported one death in April and Grantham North East reported one death in May.

Long Bennington, Allington and Barrowby reported six deaths in total, two in each month.

The figures exclude the deaths of non-residents in the area and are included when COVID-19 was the underlying cause or was mentioned on the death certificate as a contributory factor.

ONS figures see some delays while information is filtered through to them.

ONS figures have revealed a number of patterns nationally, including that people were dying at more than double the rate in the poorest areas compared to the richest and that deprived areas are disproportionately hit by COVID-19.

Other key figures in the interactive map showed Bourne had 19 deaths, with ten in Bourne West (7 in April, 3 in May) and nine in Bourne East (8 in April, 1 in May).

Market Deeping had two deaths in May and Stamford North had two deaths in April and Stamford Central, West and South had one death and March and two in each of the following months.

Across the UK, the death total today increased 202 to 41,481.

The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus remained at 1,133 in Lincolnshire, which gives a rate of 149.9 per 100,000 of population.

This compares with an England average of 279.4 rate per 100,000 based on its 156,410 confirmed cases.

Rutland remains the fourth best in the country with 35 cases, the same for some time, with a rate of 88.2 per 100,000.
