Homeowners in Lincolnshire, whose homes have been previously flooded due to heavy rainfall and continue to be 'at risk' of flooding, are invited to apply for a trial Homeowner Property Flood Resilience (PFR) assistance scheme run by Lincolnshire County Council.
Cllr Colin Davie, executive councillor for environment at Lincolnshire County Council, explains: "This new 12 month trial scheme is a way for residents to reduce the risk of flooding to their properties, and there is up to £5,000 available for an initial 35 eligible properties.
"It's a really easy process – simply fill in an application form to be considered for the scheme, and we'll see what flood resilience measures and solutions we can put in place.
"Measures could include thing like flood doors, flood barriers or air brick covers to help stop flood water from entering the property.
"However, if this isn't appropriate, money could be used for improving the property to make it easier and quicker to get back to 'normal' if flood water does enter the property.
"This could include things like raising electric wiring and sockets, replacing plaster and plasterboard or providing different flooring, for example."
