Camping and concerts at Belvoir Castle
Visitors to concerts at Belvoir Castle this month can be happy campers and stay overnight.
Emma, the Duchess of Rutland, announced on social media this week that visitors can enjoy 'back to basics' camping on socially distant pitches by a lake on the estate.
The camping, for up to six people, costs £20 and is tied in with the castle's 'Concert at the Castle' weekend, which also promises socially distance 'picnic pitches' for groups of varying sizes.
Tributes acts will include Elvis Presley, Queen, Blues Brothers, Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers, Johnny Cash, Shania Twain and John Denver.
The Daily Mail yesterday reported how the Duchess, "recognised as one of the most business-minded aristocrats" was fighting back after the pandemic hit her business activities.
Last week, the Daily Mail also reported that up to June, cancellations resulting from the pandemic has cost Belvoir Castle £2.5 million.
The article added that in another interview the Duchess relies on her five children to help out on the estate.
She said: "I don't have staff anymore but I do have kids so I tell them where they need to be and what they need to be doing. I feel a little like the Sergeant Major."
Next Saturday, August 15, the estate stages 'Firework Champions at Belvoir Castle.'
