'Severe' delays of 20 minutes or more have been recorded on the A1 north of Grantham after a lorry overturned earlier today.

The incident was reported around 11.22am and for a time fully blocked the southbound carriageway on the Foston by-pass at Main Street (Allington / Foston turn off).

The traffic tailed back several miles towards Newark, passed the Foston by-pass.

Shortly after, with police at the scene, the road was reduced to one lane and traffic was able to flow again, albeit at much reduced speeds.

There are no reports of any injuries.
