Grantham Nub News has joined forces with a regular reader to share a 'Cocktail of the Week' feature, and here is Josh with the latest instalment:

Hey guys, this week's cocktail of the week is the Cranberry and Grapefruit Martini.

This is a fruity and refreshing summer drink, so should keep you cool as the temperatures stay high this weekend.

Is is rumoured that the humble Martini was created at the end of the 19th century in America, but the exact inventor of the drink is unknown. The ingredients for a classic Martini are simple: premium dry gin, dry vermouth. Shaken not stirred, this is a favourite of the fictional spy, 007.

This week, I have put a twist on the classic...

You will need:

  • 50ml grapefruit juice
  • 50ml cranberry juice
  • 25ml dry voumuth
  • 50ml vodka

Method:

  1. Add your ingredients to a Boston shaker
  2. Shake over ice
  3. Double strain into a coupe glass
  4. Instead of olives, add a little grapefruit peel to garnish

Enjoy!

Check back next week for another Cocktail of the Week, shared each Friday to get the party started.

Alternatively, take a look at last week's cocktail feature here.
