South Kesteven District Council: Views sought on former Grantham school field housing plans
Social housing on a former high school field in Grantham looks set to be developed by South Kesteven District Council.
SKDC has begun consultation concerning the site off Tennyson Avenue, Grantham.
Previously, the site contained the former Blessed Hugh More School.
Part of the site has since been developed with the remainder left as informal open space, often used by dog walkers.
The council has said on twitter: "We need your opinion on plans for new council housing to provide homes for people on the SKDC Housing Register."
Of the scheme, it added: "It would help us meet a priority to support good housing for all with a mix of housing types/sizes, adaptable to meet residents' needs."
On the website, which is seeking comment, it also said: "The new homes will be built to meet the current requirement for energy efficiency to ensure a responsible benchmark for housing, as well as lowering the running costs for residents.
"The proposed properties will be a mixture of flats, bungalows and two and three storey homes. This will ensure the site is suitable to accommodate the variety of needs highlighted within our housing demand."
However, a formal planning application has yet to be made.
Ward councillor Linda Wootten told Grantham Nub News: "This proposal is bound to attract plenty of attention from nearby residents. I have had people contacting me about it already."
