Decision delayed on drive thru coffee shop on A1 north of Grantham

Plans for a drive thru coffee shop on the A1 north of Grantham have received a setback.

Planning staff at South Kesteven District Council have recommended approval for the development at the Toll Bar Service Station, Marston.

Motor Fuel Ltd also seek to create parking for 27 cars on the vacant site, next to an existing petrol station.

As reported previously on Nub News, the scheme had been 'called in' by Coun Ian Stokes (Con-Peasecliffe & Ridgeway), meaning councillors on the planning committee, rather than planning officers, will determine the application, due to his concerns about highway safety.

At planning committee last week, members agreed to defer a decision to clarify matters on additional points that had been raised with Highways England.
