Coronavirus crisis: Sharp rise in number of Lincolnshire cases

Public Heath England has reported a sharp rise in the number of confirms cases of COVID-19 in Lincolnshire.

The government body reported last night that at 9am yesterday (Wednesday), the county had seven new confirmed cases in the previous 24 hours.

This meant the county had 31 confirmed cases, compared with 24 the day before.

It means that since Monday. Lincolnshire has seen 11 confirmed new cases.

Nationally, Public Health England reported that as of 9am on 25 March 2020, a total of 97,019 people have been tested, of which 87,490 were confirmed negative and 9,529 were confirmed positive.

They added 465 patients in the UK who tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) have died, and increase of 43 on the day before.

The risk to the UK has been raised to high.
