There have been eight new COVID-19 cases and three deaths confirmed, government figures for Lincolnshire on Friday show.

The government's dashboard shows the cases and deaths in Lincolnshire.

However, there were no more in in North Lincolnshire or North East Lincolnshire.

The latest means Lincolnshire has seen 100 cases this month, despite being the month with the fewest cases and deaths since the pandemic began.

Rising figures elsewhere in the country yesterday led to some restrictions, due to be lifted today, to be postponed for another two weeks.

There have been 3,473 cases across the region. They break down as:

2,521 in Lincolnshire (up from 2513)

736 in North Lincolnshire (no change)

216 in North East Lincolnshire (no change)

Nationally cases rose by 880 to 303,181. The 2,521 for Lincolnshire amounts to 333.5 cases per 100,000 of population, which compares to an England average of 466.9 per 100,000 based on its 261,348 confirmed cases. Locally, South Kesteven has a reported 415 cases (292.6 per 100,000). South Holland has 712 cases (757.6). Rutland has 100 cases (251.9). Peterborough has 1,454 reported cases (723.2). And Melton has 181 cases (354.2). There were 120 deaths confirmed nationally, bringing the total to 46,119. The government's updated figures means there have been 461 people living in the three authorities in Greater Lincolnshire who have died after testing positive for coronavirus. The figure above includes not only the 439 deaths in hospitals and care homes, which saw no increases earlier today, but also deaths in the community or in hospitals outside the regions boundaries.
